Care to share some unique wedding rituals and traditions in your culture?

For us, Filipinos, pamamanhikan is a popular wedding tradition. Prior to the wedding, the groom-to-be must ask for the hand of his fiancee from the girl's parents. His family also accompanies him and they could also start discussing the wedding preparations and details.

I think henna / mehandi (sp?) ceremonies in South Asian and some east African cultures are extremely unique. I think it's so cool that it's like a window in the past. I was watching Monsoon Wedding and the henna scene looked like the same tradition could have occurred in Bible or ancient times. Even the song they sang sounded like a great call and response ancient tradition. It was quite amazing to me.
