Jesus Is The Object Of Your Faith 1Cor 15:12--14 Amp

Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching is vain, and your faith is also vain.

The early church persistently proclaimed the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This was not an option for them; neither is it an option for us. The grace of God that is available in the gospel is for both justification and sanctification that requires a risen Lord. The resurrection is essential to the gospel, which is the new covenant of grace so Jesus became the object of this faith by grace. This would follow here upon that the preaching and faith of the gospel would be vain: If Christ be not risen, then our preaching is in vain, and your faith is in vain. This supposition admitted, would destroy the principal evidence of Christianity; and so it make preaching in vain. We go forth, and publish and assert a thing false in fact, and impossible to be true. And does not this make us the vainest men and women in the world, and our office and ministry the vainest and most useless thing in the world? This supposition would make the faith of Christians vain, as well as the labors of minister. If Christ be not risen, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins, yet under the guilt and condemnation of sin, because it is through his death and sacrifice for sin alone that make forgiveness to be had.
We have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, Eph1:7. No remission of sins is to be had but through the shedding of his blood. And had not his blood been shed, and his life taken away, without ever being restored, what evidence could we have had that through him we have justification and eternal life? Had he remained under the power of death, how could he have delivered us from its power? And how vain a thing is faith in him, upon this supposition!
He must rise for our justification who was delivered for our sins, or in vain we look for any such benefit by him. There had been no justification nor salvation if Christ had not been risen. And must not faith in Christ be vain, and of no signification, if he be still among the dead?1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our heavenly Father has mercifully showered us with so many blessings that we rightly desire Him to honored and blessed Him. “LET'S stop and understand what Object means,” in Webster's: It’s a thing that can be seen or touched. Or a person or thing to which action or feeling is directed, or a purpose or goal. The Greek translation for object is (A physical thing that can be perceived).
Faith is ( A firm belief, persuasion, assurance firm conviction.) Now we know what faith is; Heb11:1 said Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Heb12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. So He has become the object of our faith.
He went on the cross and made it all possible for you and I to have this hope. No one else could activate our faith but Jesus. HE IS THE OBJECT OF YOUR FAITH this is why we have hope today. The unique hope the Lord provides for us is a "living hope." It is a hope that pulsates with resurrection life. "[God] has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead." This hope is permeated with the Lord's resurrection. This resurrection hope is sufficient to raise us from any agonizing deadness, whether in our aching hearts or in our threatening circumstances.
The Spirit of God emphasized this strongly, as He inspired Paul to write: "And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is vain and your faith is also vain." If Jesus had not been raised from the dead, our preaching would be empty. If Christ were still in a tomb, His salvation mission ended in failure, not victory. If He is not alive, your trusting in Him would be fruitless.
Jesus frequently taught of His death and resurrection. He said in Luke 9:22"The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised on the third day" Amen! Isa 53:3-6 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
So if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. because " The gospel of forgiveness of sins includes the resurrection. "I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you today that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures"Matt27:63.
Faith is only as effective as its object. If our Lord is not resurrected, it is useless to place our confidence in Him. If we are trusting in a dead Savior to forgive us and set us free, we are still guilty and bound. But I am so glad that he has risen and he has set me free.
The Lord is not in an ancient tomb Christ is risen from the dead." He rose victorious over sin and death with all power, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon Him."Psa86:5 Based on His great love, He sent His everlasting righteousness to all who believe. For You, are Lord, His Son who paid for our debt of sin.
Through faith in His name, we have received forgiveness and a new life. Day by day He is present with us and is working in and through our lives. How blessed we are! Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Jesus is the word John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Rom4:22-25"Faith was accounted to Abraham for righteousness. Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us i.e., credited to our account who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the grave, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification".
Thus, all of the grace blessings of the resurrection are ours by faith in the finish work of Jesus. I am talking about this walking on water Jesus, this Jesus who calls the dead to come out of the grave that been there for 3 long days and received life again, this open of the eyes of the blind men Jesus, this healing the sick Jesus just by the touch of his garment, he is the object of our faith." Rom 4:16Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all.
Just as His death became our death through identification, so also His resurrection became our resurrection. In God's sight, we were raised to a new life in Christ. Rom 6:4 "Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism (that is, by identification) into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." To walk in newness of life is supposes newness of heart, for out of the heart are the issues of life, and there is no way to make the stream sweet but by making the spring also.
The new man is what he was not, does what he did not. It is to be alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. To converse with God, to have a regard to him, a delight in him, a concern for him, the soul upon all occasions carried out towards him as towards an agreeable object, in which it takes a complacency: this is to be alive to God by faith that make "JESUS THE OBJECT OF YOUR FAITH" AMEN! BE BLESSED.
P.S. “Have a Blessed and Happy Easter”!
