"HE HAS PUSHED THE RESET BUTTON" Mark 9:11-13 Amp

They asked Him, saying, “Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first before the Messiah comes? He answered them, Elijah does come first and restores and reestablishes all things. And yet how is it written of the Son of Man that He will suffer many things grief and physical distress and be treated with contempt utterly despised and rejected? But I say to you that Elijah has in fact come already, and they did to him whatever they wished, just as it is written in scripture of him.

In the text Jesus is saying that Elijah has come and his purpose was to restore and reestablishes all things back as it was. A Reset Button means to restart or restore things as it was since in the beginning of time. It was spoken in Mal 4:5-6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
The Reset button of life was going to restart life over for the children of Israel. They must keep up a believing expectation of the gospel of Christ, and must look for the beginning of it in the appearing of Elijah the prophet. Behold, I send you Elijah the prophet though the Spirit of prophecy that ceased for a time, and you will have only the law to consult, yet it shall be revive again in one that shall be sent in the Spirit and power of Elijah Luk1:17.
The law and the prophets were until John Luk16:16, and they continued to be the only lights of the church till that morning-star appeared. As God never left himself without witness in the world, so neither in the church, but, as there was occasion, carried the light of divine revelation further and further to the perfect day. They had now Moses and the prophets, and they might hear them; but God will go further: he will send them Elijah.
When he shall be sent, before the appearing of the Messiah, which, because it was the judgment of this world, and introduced the ruin of the Jewish church and nation, is here called the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. John Baptist gave them fair warning of this when he told them of the wrath to come that wrath to the uttermost which was hastening upon them and put them into a way of escape from it.
He told them of the fan in Christ's hand, with which Christ would thoroughly purge his floor Mat3:12. That day of Christ, when he came first, was as that day will be when he comes again though a great and joyful day to those that embrace him, yet a great and dreadful day to those that oppose him.
John Baptist was sent before the coming of this day, to give people notice of it, that they might get ready for it, and go forth to meet it. He shall be an instrument in God's hand of turning many to righteousness, to the Lord their God, and so making ready a people prepared for him. The turning of souls to God and their duty is the best preparation of them for the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
It is promised concerning John, that he shall give a turn to things, shall make a bold stand against the strong torrent of sin and impiety which he found in full force among the children of his people, and beating down all before it this is called his coming to restore all things Matt 17:11. And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elijah truly shall first come, and restore all things to set them to rights, that they may again go in the right channel.
That he shall preach a doctrine that shall reach men's hearts, and have an influence upon them, and work a change in them. God's word, in his mouth, shall be quick and powerful, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Many had their consciences awakened by his ministry who was dead and yet were not thoroughly wrought upon, such a spirit and power was there in it.
He Has Push the Reset Button of life just like when Jesus went to the grave of Lazarus who had been dead for three long days, but when he called to him to come forth it was as though he pushed his restart button of life and Lazarus came out of the grave alive and resurrected back to life again as before. Hos6:1-3 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. In order for the Lord to reset these things in your life as they were you must repent of your sins and then accept him into your life as your savior and restore.
Joel 2:25-26 And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpillar, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, that hath dealt wondrously with you: and my people shall never be ashamed.
Joel 2:32 And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.
When God gives to his people plenty, and peace, and joy, upon their returning to him, he thereby gives them to understand that he is pleased with their repentance, that he has pardoned their sins, and that he is theirs as much as ever that they are taken into the same covenant with him, for he is the Lord their God, and into the same communion, for he is in the midst of them, nigh unto them in all that they call upon him.
Act 3:19-21 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began here "He Has Push the Reset Button"
He shall send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you by his disciples, both before and since his resurrection, and is, and will be, all in all to them. You shall have his spiritual presence, He that is sent into the world shall be sent to you; you shall have the comfort of his being sent; he shall be sent among you in his gospel, which shall be his tabernacle, his chariot of war.
He shall send Jesus Christ to destroy Jerusalem, and the nation of unbelieving Jews, that are enemies to Christ and Christianity, and to deliver his ministers and people from them, and give them peace in the profession of the gospel, and that shall be a time of refreshing, in which you shall share and then the churches will have rest.
The sending of Christ to judge the world, at the end of time, will be a blessing, you shall then lift up your heads with joy, knowing that your redemption draws nigh. Come let him restore back to you the time of peace and rest that you may have lost down through the years which satin stole from you.
We must come to Jesus Christ as our Rest, and repose ourselves in him it is the duty and interest of weary and heavy laden sinners to come to Jesus Christ renouncing all those things which stand in opposition to him, or in competition with him, we must accept of him, as our Physician and Advocate, and give up ourselves to his conduct and government; freely willing to be saved by him, in his own way, and upon his own terms.
Come and cast that burden upon him, under which thou art heavy laden. This is the gospel call, Rev 22:17 The Spirit said, Come; and the bride said, Come; let him that is athirst come; whoever will, let him come. The blessing promised to those that do come I will give you rest. He will push your reset button and cause you to have life and have it more abundantly. This was his purpose for coming into the world to be able to give to us what the Father wanted all of us to have with him and from him since the beginning of time.
Matt 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Co 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. Joh3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. "HE HAS PUSHED THE RESET BUTTON" AMEN!
